Atom Tuition Terms and Conditions

Below is a summary of the key terms that underpin your relationship with Atom Learning Tuition. Full terms can be found on the Atom Learning website.
Definitions
- Lesson: a 50-minute online tuition session.
- Billing period: a month when tuition is taking place e.g. June.
Your choice
To begin tuition with Atom Learning Tuition, parents/guardians can choose to purchase either a subscription or a package of lessons (bulk purchase).
Subscriptions
Purchasing and using a subscription
- You purchase a fixed number of lessons per billing period.
- Each subscription has a pre-agreed subscription length; the length of the subscription determines the price per lesson.
- All lessons must be used within the billing period. Unused lessons cannot be carried over into the subsequent billing period.
- You will be billed at the beginning of each month to credit your account with lessons for that month. The first month in which you have the full amount of lessons will be the first month of your subscription. This can either be the month of purchase, or the following month. If you are beginning tuition partway through the month and wish to have a reduced number of lessons in the current month, you will be billed for those lessons at the rate determined by your subscription, and your subscription will begin the following month.
- You can purchase additional lesson(s) within a billing period on top of your monthly subscription at the same price per lesson. These lessons must be purchased in advance of the lesson(s) taking place to credit your account accordingly.
- To reschedule a lesson, you must give your client manager, and the tutor, written notice at least 24 hours before the lesson is agreed to take place; otherwise, lesson credit will be used, and you will be charged the full amount for the scheduled lesson.
Pausing a subscription
- You are permitted to pause their subscription for a duration of 1 calendar month during the initial term of the subscription. You can request a pause 1 time during your initial subscription term. You must inform your client manager no later than 14 days before the end of the month prior to the month for which the pause is requested.
- During the pause, the monthly payment will not be taken, and no tuition lessons will be permitted to take place. The subscription will automatically resume the calendar month following the pause, with payment taken at or around the first of the month and lessons allowed to resume, and the end date of the initial subscription term will be extended by 1 month.
Cancelling a subscription
- If you are not happy with the first lesson with a new tutor, you can request a refund or a change of tutor.
- If you are not happy with tuition in the first 14 days after tuition commences with a new tutor, you can request a refund for the full amount paid minus any lessons that have already taken place, and your ongoing subscription will be cancelled.
- The subscription will auto renew to continue on a rolling month-to-month basis after the initial term if you have not given notice to cancel. To cancel, you must provide written notice to your client manager at least 14 days’ notice before the end of the initial term, or 14 days’ notice before the end of the current month if in a rolling month-to-month subscription, to cancel the auto renewal.
- If you wish to cancel during the subscription term, you will incur an early-termination penalty equivalent to 75% of the remaining value of your subscription.
Package of lessons (bulk purchase)
Purchasing and using a package of lessons
- You purchase a fixed number of lessons upfront; minimum of 6 lessons must be purchased at a time.
- The total number of lessons purchased will determine the per lesson price.
- For bulk lesson purchases only, there is no time limit by when you must have used the lessons.
- To reschedule a lesson, you must give your client manager, and the tutor, written notice at least 24 hours before the lesson is agreed to take place; otherwise, lesson credit will be used, and you will be charged the full amount for the scheduled lesson.
Cancelling a package of lessons
- If you are not happy with the first lesson with a new tutor, you can request a refund or a change of tutor.
- If you are not happy with tuition in the first 14 days after tuition commences with a new tutor, you can request a refund for the full amount paid minus any lessons that have already taken place.
- After 14 days, if you do not wish to use the remaining lessons you’ve already purchased, you are eligible to receive a refund equivalent to 25% of the value of the remaining lessons.
For all Atom Tuition clients
If, while a tuition client, you encounter unforeseen extenuating circumstances that delay or make impossible your adherence to the terms of this agreement, please notify your Client Manager in writing immediately. Each situation will be assessed and handled individually, though release or amendment of these terms for any particular situation is not guaranteed.
