Setting extra practices on the CAT4 Question Types

To practice the individual question types your child will see in the CAT4 exam, you can set targeted extra practice activities. These will provide your child with specific and relevant questions to set them up for success. We recommend setting 5-10 questions for each activity.

Part 1

To practice Figure Classification questions, we recommend setting practices on Match to a Group and Match to a Pair. (Non-Verbal Reasoning>Interpreting Shapes>Recognise and Associate>Match to a Group/Match to a Pair)
To practice Figure Matrices questions: set a practice activity on Matrices. (Non-Verbal Reasoning>Interpreting Shapes>Extending a Pattern>Matrices)

Part 2

To practice Verbal Classification questions, set practices on Antonyms, Synonyms and Odd One Out. (Verbal Reasoning>Words and Wordplay>Vocabulary>Antonyms/Synonyms/Odd One Out)
To practice Verbal Analogies questions, set a practice activity on Spot the Connection. (Verbal Reasoning>Words and Wordplay>Vocabulary>Spot the Connection)
For Number Analogies, set a
practice activity on Find the Calculation. (Verbal Reasoning>Numbers>Find the Calculation)

Part 3

To practice Number Series questions, we recommend setting practice on Number Sequences. (Verbal Reasoning>Patterns and Functions>Sequences>Number Sequences)
To practice Figure Analysis questions, set a practice activity on Following Folds. (Non-Verbal Reasoning>Manipulating Shapes>2D Shapes>Following Folds)
For Figure Recognition, we recommend setting a practice activity on Parts within a Shape. (Non-Verbal Reasoning>Manipulating Shapes>2D Shapes>Parts within a Shape)

There are unlimited CAT4 mock tests available on Atom Home. We recommend setting 1-2 of these tests for your child each week in the 6 weeks before the exams. This will help your child with exam technique and build their confidence in an exam setting.
