Atom's Education Team use a tool called MathJax to display more complex mathematical equations or formulas.
Occasionally an error may occur in the platform when the MathJax library has failed to load. When this happens symbols may appear in the question or answer text, as shown in the examples below:

To help resolve this problem, we recommend the following steps:
1. Try a Hard Refresh:
A hard refresh clears your browser cache for a specific page, which forces it to load the most recent version of that page.
- Google Chrome:
- Windows users: hold down Ctrl and then press F5 on your keyboard
- Mac users: hold down Cmd and Shift and then press R on your keyboard
- Firefox
- For Windows users: hold down Ctrl and then press F5 on your keyboard
- Mac users: hold down ? Cmd and ? Shift and then press R on your keyboard
- Safari (Mac)
- Go to Safari > Empty Cache, or hit Opt + Cmd + E
- To refresh, click the refresh button on the address bar or press Cmd + R
2. Allow All Domains: atomlearning.com
- If you are using any networking filtering software, please ensure that all ".atomlearning.com" domains are permitted. This is often found on work or school computers or if you have parental control software installed.
3. Access Libraries.atomlearning.com
- Your computer must be able to access the libraries.atomlearning.com site, where MathJax is loaded from.
You can go to https://libraries.atomlearning.com/check/index.html to see if your device has access, you should see a success message, shown below:
