Do I need to move my child's year group up for them to see harder questions?
We would not recommend changing your child's year group on Atom. The level of the questions your child sees is based on the work completed on the platform so far. Atom's adaptive algorithm ensures that your child is stretched and challenged where appropriate. Once your child masters the majority of the curriculum, they will automatically move to the next level.
In the skills your child finds more challenging, the difficulty will increase slowly. This allows your child to master these skills before moving on to challenging questions. Therefore, your child is always challenged and progressing forward but never demotivated.
Atom will move your child's year group up to the next academic year at the end of the summer holiday. This is in line with the new school term in September. You do not need to adjust your child's year group on the platform.
