Your child's exam prep plan will make sure they go into the big day confident and prepared! Here's how to get started.
Using your exam prep plan
When you signed up for Atom you told us your target school(s). Based on the exams they'll be taking, we’ve created a personal exam prep plan for your child.
To get prepared in time for the exam date, all your child needs to do is:
- Log in to Atom Home and go to the Learn page
- Complete the activities we’ve set for each week
The less time they have before their exam, the more activities they may need to complete each week.
We learn best in small chunks, and balance is key to healthy and happy exam preparation. Try splitting your child's time on Atom into 3–4 short sessions throughout the week.
What’s on your exam prep plan
Your child’s exam prep plan is made up of activities that cover their whole exam curriculum.
When your child logs in, they'll see a list of activities arranged over different islands. They'll travel from island to island as they progress on their journey.
- On learning islands, your child will build knowledge through practice questions, helpsheets and videos.
- On mini-test islands, your child will be given a short test to assess what they've retained from the recent learning islands.
How your exam prep plan adapts
Your child's weekly activities adapt to their progress to make sure they develop all the knowledge and skills they’ll need, in good time for exam day.
If your child is struggling with an exam topic and needs to spend more time on it, it will come up again in their exam prep plan until they are confident in it.
If your child is doing well in a topic, they'll start to see more challenging questions in that topic.
