What CAT4 mock test should my child take?
The CAT4 test is a Cognitive Abilities Test made by GL Assessment. It helps schools to evaluate a child’s current learning ability and their future academic potential.
The CAT4 test has 10 available levels which are aimed at different age groups. The content in each level is appropriate for that age group.
If your child is taking the CAT4 as an 11 plus exam, they will likely take Level C or Level D.
Please see the level breakdown below:
- CAT4 Level A: This level is typically designed for students in the early years of primary school, roughly ages 6-7.
- CAT4 Level B: Designed for students in the later primary school years, typically ages 8-9.
- CAT4 Level C: Aimed at students in the early secondary school years, around ages 10-11.
- CAT4 Level D: This level is intended for students in the later years of secondary school, around ages 13-14.
